Solution Architects / Solution Design

The role of a Solution Architect doesn't exist in most businesses, unless the business is large enough to warrant a full IT team. But it is a critical function to fill.

A good Solution Architect can also cover the roles of the Enterprise Architect and the Infrastructure Architect. This means they do more than just provide an solution for an immediate problem. They are capable of taking a step back and looking at the total picture of your IT software and systems.

If your business can't justify the cost of three different skillsets, then a good Solution Architect will give you those skills in one person.

Solution Design and Architecture, which deals with Enterprise, Infrastructure and general Solutions, is a cornerstone component of our project delivery method. We solve immediate problems, but also determine how different packages can and should work together. This provides the most value for your business.

We've seen numerous examples of software vendors putting forward the software solution or integration method which benefits them the most - the simplest method for their implementation, which won't fit in with the rest of your ecosystem.

The end result? A business paying more than they should for a solution which isn't working in the interests of the business.

A Solution Architect fundamentally ensures that the business isn't reliant on a software vendor setting the terms and doing what is best for them.

We see the Solution Architect as the conductor of the orchestra, making sure all the instruments play together in harmony. Or as the catcher in a baseball game - the only person looking out at the rest of the field to see what's going on.

Our Solution Architect Service includes all aspects of IT architecture and design, covering Enterprise, general Solution and Technical architecture.

Within each of these we can:

  • Investigate your immediate project/problem and give you solution options to resolve any of your challenges / issues.
  • Assist with the overall interaction of your business systems and direction of the business. We'll make sure your architecture aligns with the current and future business needs.

In our role as Solution Architects, we make sure we're suggesting the most cost-effective, process-efficient functional, technical or software-based solution for the issue. We determine which solution is the right one for the business, and their circumstances, before any changes are made.

When we work as your Solution Architects, we'll give you a clear picture of the lay of the land and the options available to you. You're getting a combined 50+ years of experience in implementation, consulting, process change, design and development. The software tools may change, but the method to determine a high-level view of your ecosystem is the same.
